About
Welcome!
PLEASE NOTE: I have a separate, more comprehensive website (loulasprugato.com) that provides details and resources regarding my psychotherapy, consultation, and training services.
I'm a Peer-Reviewed Trainer in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the US states of California and Virginia. I'm also a registered Telehealth provider for Vermont.
I provide virtual individual psychotherapy for ages 16 and up and couples therapy for intimate partners. I also provide consultation, on ACT and other contextual behavioral approaches, for mental/behavioral health professionals and students across the globe.
I wholeheartedly welcome people of all diverse backgrounds and orientations, and I strive to create a respectful, trusting, and collaborative context in all my working relationships. I believe that you'll find me to be attentive, compassionate, and responsive in our interactions.
In both psychotherapy and consultation, the process starts with YOU - meeting you where you're at in your personal/professional journey - getting to know the landscape of your challenges and values-guided goals. And then, together, we watch for and transform the processes (behavioral patterns) that influence the difficulties you encounter while cultivating skills to empower you in your personal/relational/professional growth.
While ACT is my primary therapeutic approach, I integrate other contextual behavioral approaches, including Functional Analytic Psychotherapy and Clinically-Applied Relational Frame Theory. I'm also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.

With respect to psychotherapy, I am an out-of-network provider and do not directly bill your insurance; you are responsible for your fees at the time of your appointment. However, I can provide you with a monthly receipt (“superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement according to your plan and policies. This approach protects your privacy by allowing you to choose whether or not to disclose private health information to your insurer. It also reduces the ability of your insurance provider to affect the scope or extent of your treatment.
